In the All-Russian Decorative Art Museum the 2015 year is announced as the "Year of art bone carving" under the Museum’s strategic program "Property of Russia. Tradition for the Future ". The program of 2015 is made according to the particular relevance and development of Russian art of bone carving and includes several major events.

All-Russian Decorative Museum conducts training courses for curators and conservators of museums in various fields, "Features of acquisition, storage, preservation of objects of decorative and applied arts." Classes are held on the basis of the Russian Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Art. Duration of the program 3 days (20 hours) and includes familiarization with the restoration workshops and storage facilities of the museum.


Exhibition dedicated to the 185th anniversary of birth of the outstanding Russian jeweler Paul Akimovich Ovchinnikov (1830-1888), that introduces unrivaled in technique vase created in gold and silver by Ovchinnikov company at the beginning of the XX century. "The exhibition of one object" allows with an example of this unique work to show the depth and diversity of the traditions of Russian jewelry school, demonstrate the highest level of craftsmanship that has been made in the domestic gold and silver art of the beginning of the last century.


The work of artists, written specifically for the holiday carnival, create an atmosphere of fun, joy and folk Shrovetide festivities based on folk tales and legends. Nikolay and Ekaterina work in their own unique style, which is called "fairy realism". On their canvases coexist fictional characters and fairy tales, mythological and folkloric themes which are confered with symbolic meaning. Their creativity they compare with "carved Time - forgotten art, wielding that can portray those who know the laws of time and is not subject to him." In each picture there are rhythms of the universe, and each captivates as an open window into space.


The Museum opened workshops where everyone can get skills in various fields of arts and crafts - ceramics, enamels, engravings, under the guidance of an experienced master.


"Handmade in Germany" is displaying masterpieces of 150 German manufactories, artisans and designers.


The idea of the exhibition has grown from a very personal seria of Olga Orlova-Pluzhnikov dedicated to the author's favorite accessories - shoes. Each pair on canvas, whether expensive boats from the "Galeries Lafayette" or simply felt boots like "Goodbye youth" are equally dear to her and kept to this day. The exhibition will include more than 100 graphic works by children from Russia, Spain, China, Germany, USA, UK, France, Japan made in the 1930s - 1940s years. Drawings selected from the collection of the Institute of Art Education of the Russian Academy of Education and are the museum pieces, which in itself is a unique phenomenon. Demonstration of this collection is an extraordinary event that has no analogues in the recent past. The project presents an amazing phenomenon of Russian traditional dolls called "matryoshka", which is not only a symbol of national traditional art, but also an example of cross-cultural relationships and influences. Matryoshka surprisingly organically connected the new artistic trends of the early XX century and traditional folkloric images of Russian art and culture. The exhibition includes objects from the collections of All-Russian Decorative Art Museum with the participation of the State Museum of Oriental Art and the Museum of Art and the Pedagogical toys in Sergiev Posad. Matryoshka is one of the main symbols of Russia. The potential of this industry can create new original works of interest which exists to this day.

The new joint exhibition of the Russian Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Art Galleries "Lorie" and Galleries "Zamoskvorechye" continues the series of exhibitions devoted to painting and graphic art of the XX century. Thematic exhibition immerses the viewer into the imaginative world of the Soviet period, tells the story of ordinary working people who have become the main source of inspiration Soviet masters, with their daily deeds, minutes of rest, holidays, hobbies and sports achievements. The exhibition presents a portrait and genre painting and graphics 1930 - 1980, which is often taken to refer to the social realism as the artistic method and slogan.

The project arose from a desire to see in the museum not only the permanent exhibition, thathas not changed for many years, but a renewal, via the introduction of the new, the active,the real, without destroying the already existing exhibition that is the result of sustained workover many years. The idea of the introduction of works of contemporary art into thepermanent exhibitions of classical museums is not new. However, the theme, ‘intervention’came into being contextually, especially for All-Russian Decorative Art Museum. Thepieces, made by artists specifically for this exhibition, penetrate directly into the themedrooms, the exhibits of which barely change. With the help of the interaction of contemporarypieces and museum exhibits we want to see the continuity and evolutionary development ofart and to get a sense of the time in which we live.


The exhibition's title in Esperanto indicates a natural tendency of people to the arrangement of his life on the same footing and inaccessibility of such arrangement. Any conditions of the good life can come true only in specific interiors decorated with certain objects. The works of all the participants of the exhibition demonstrate the universal features of everyday items - borrow the form of everyday items (lamps, bunches of flowers), allude to the inhabitants of the interior (clothing), use images, decorating and mark up the habitable interiors (patterns of carpets and wallpaper, navigation design) - and with those not limited to their functionality, giving the spectator the freedom of imagination.The exhibition will include works by Leonid Larionov Oleg Frolov Natalia Tarr, Karin Foshar, Lutakova Lazar et al.


The "School of Traditional Culture" is designed to introduce children and their parents to the roots of traditional culture. The program aims to familiarize children with the Russian folk culture.


The project represents artists of different generations and discursive units (formulated or merely guessed), but united by a symbolic time and place - the USSR "Brezhnev" era, transformed into "young state" under the name of the Russian Federation. Vyacheslav Sysoev, Vladislav Mamyshev Monroe, Igor Meglitsky Alexey Belyaev-Gintovt, Timur Novikov Dmitry Plavinsky Victor Tikhomirov, Vladimir Mironenko (Comrade Y) - the artistic trajectory of each somehow correlated with this turning point the recent history of the country.


The All-Russian Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Art opens a new museum space "feeling of home" ("CHU.DO"), which includes a lecture hall and a permanent exhibition of the Russian product design "habitat." Subject program covers all that is connected with the home and the space around it: design, decor, fashion trends in the interior, modern art, but also a lifestyle and a separate block of lectures devoted to the garden.


This large-scale exhibition project will be the end of the year the art of bone carving in the museum under the program "Property of Russia. Tradition for the Future ". Museum for the first time will present its unique collection of bone carving art, which includes works of all known industries that exist in Russia from the XVIII century to the present day. The exhibition will be on display more than 400 exhibits made from different types of bone. Viewers will see the diversity of styles and techniques of carving the images formed in the centuries in different regions.


In Karetnaya Gallery of the All-Russian Decorative Art Museum the artworks by the artist Natalia Zarovnaya will be presented - bright representative "geometric" abstraction of the late XX - early XXI century.


The exhibition "Stories of Russian Ballet" offers a contemporary look at the art of Russian ballet in its current and historical aspects. The Russian ballet traditionally has a high status in the cultural life of the state and has been for a long time an associative range of Russian art and  the hallmark of our country abroad. The Russian ballet keeps its aesthetic canons and a legislator of a classical choreography around the world. And nowadays the Russian ballet does not leave the audience indifferent, inspires creative people, gathers outstanding personalities, comprehensively gifted in different spheres of art.

As a part of the Moscow project "Family travel. With your family to the museum ", we offer you to take part in the “Royal court, taiga and tundra” program, dated to the exhibition "Travel on the roads of time. Carving art of Russia".


By the 125th anniversary of the diplomatic relations establishment between Mexico and Russia, the All-Russian Decorative Art Museum with the support of the Embassy of Mexico in Moscow opens an exhibition of an artist Vladimir Kibalchich "Vladi" (1920 - 2005). Exhibition of 32 graphic works is dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the death of the artist. The works selected for the project, declared as the cultural property of Mexico and are stored at the National Institute of Fine Arts.


The exhibition will present the works of lacquer miniature painting, watercolors and graphics of the series "Big City Dreams". "Big City Dreams" – are "resurgent" sounds of the city, memories of the past, captured on paper.


In the exhibition and an exclusive edition for the first time will be represented 32 sheet of author's drawing in the technique of "ink, pen", the creation of which is dated to the Year of Literature. Graphic series was created by the talented Moscow artist Vadim Andreev (1962 - 2014).


The exhibition "Garments made of rainbow and silver" presents clothes and jewelry of the small Guigzhou Province nationalities. The exhibition will feature 111 exhibits - costumes and silver accessories - from the Museum of Guigzhou Province.

The exhibition presents 38 showpieces XVIII - XX centuries masters of France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Germany and Russia.


In the announced in Russia Year of Literature the All-Russian Decorative Art Museum for the first time, will host an exhibition of book illustrations miniature artists. Artists working in the book illustration , make tangible events and characters. The goal of the exhibition is to show a little-known facet of the work of artists working in renowned centers of lacquer miniature. To attract the attention of publishers and general readers.


From 20 to 22 November 2015 in the Russian Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Art will take place, which has already become an annual music festival "Music of the times." Built on the principle of the dual combination of different musical aspects of this year's festival is dedicated to the theme "Dialogue" and is conducted jointly with the Moscow Chamber Orchestra "Musica Viva".

Alexander Oleshko is the owner of a huge collection of vintage New Year toys, postcards, posters and garlands starting with the pre-war period, until the products of 80s.
